Canine Massage Level 1:

(Canine Therapeutic Massage Therapist, CTMT)

$1,500.00         

(28 live seminar hours and 72 home study hours)

What better place to start than with level 1! This level offers a great beginning to your canine massage career!  This four day instruction will include the following:

  • Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology
  • Pre-Massage Considerations
  • Strokes and techniques of maintenance and therapeutic massage
  • Post massage considerations for companion animals and their guardians
  • Specific conditions relating to companion animals
  • Building and marketing your practice including confidentiality, ethics, developing/maintaining records, preparing case histories, developing case studies, marketing strategies, and insurance
  • Pathologies – Gait observation and its relation to muscle imbalances and abnormalities, common canine diseases, discussing medications, nutrition, and treatments both holistic and modern.
  • Animal Handling – Behavior, communication, intention, and pack psychology
  • Introduction to acupressure, essential oils, and nutrition

On the final day of class you will be prepared to perform a live practicum and take a written final exam. Following your four day class you will have post coursework in the form of case studies. These act as your “real-life” experience, and this is how you will get your final certification.

 

Canine Massage Level 2

(Advanced Canine Massage Therapist, ACMT)

(28 live seminar hours and 122 home study hours)

Canine Level 2 is the next step in your canine massage certification. This level will focus on advanced massage techniques, and topics including sports massage. This level is not just for the hard-core dog agility world, this curriculum contains vital information for all canine massage practitioners! Topics to be discussed are:

  • In-depth canine anatomy and organ systems
  • Introduction to kinesiology
  • Pre-massage considerations with athletes
  • Strokes and techniques of sports massage
  • Introduction to the basics of stretching
  • Post massage considerations specific to athletes
  • Assessment, gait/conformation
  • Building your practice in the sports industry
  • Pathologies relating to athletes

On the final day of class you will be prepared to perform a live practicum and take a written final exam. Following your four day class you will have post coursework in the form of case studies. These act as your “real-life” experience, and this is how you will get your final certification.

 

Canine Massage Level 3

(Senior Canine Massage Therapist, SCMT)

$1,900.00

(28 live seminar hours and 72 home study hours)

Canine Massage level 3 is the final step in our Canine Massage program, but is only the beginning of the journey! The level 3 course focuses on senior massage, including:

  • Specific massage techniques that facilitate healing/geriatric and quality of life focus
  • Specific massage techniques that assist the immune system, help reduce pain, inflammation, and maintain a range of motion.
  • Grief counseling and end of life issues
  • Common conditions and injuries of geriatric dogs, their pathology and the accepted protocols currently used in veterinary medicine for treatment.
  • Manual lymphatic drainage
  • Energy work
  • Massage for inflammatory conditions
  • Circulatory and palliative massage
  • Ceremonies – Introduction to specific essentials oils, herbs, and the use of color
  • Basic introduction to sound and color therapy
  • Continued development of assessment skills
  • Anatomy focus on the lymph system, joints, and nerve supply

On the final day of class you will be prepared to perform a live practicum and take a written final exam. Following your four day class you will have post coursework in the form of case studies. These act as your “real-life” experience, and this is how you will get your final certification.
